HYBRID LEARNING PROGRAM – FAQ (2026–2027)

Flexible • Structured • Student-Focused


WILL MY STUDENT STILL GET HELP AND SUPPORT?

✔ Texas-certified online teachers
 ✔ On-campus facilitator support
 ✔ Progress monitoring & intervention
 ✔ Help when they fall behind



IS THIS REPLACING TEACHERS WITH COMPUTERS?

No. This program provides flexibility while maintaining strong teacher support both online and in person.



HOW IS ATTENDANCE TRACKED?

  • Daily login for online courses

  • Attendance in in-person classes
     Students are held accountable just like a traditional schedule.



WHAT IF MY STUDENT FALLS BEHIND?

Students are closely monitored:

  • Intervention and added support

  • Parent/student conference if needed

  • Possible return to full in-person learning



CAN STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN ATHLETICS & ACTIVITIES?

✔ Athletics
 ✔ UIL
 ✔ Clubs & organizations



HOW DOES THIS WORK WITH DUAL CREDIT?

Students may take dual credit as long as they attend at least 3 in-person classes daily at Hardin High.




WHAT ABOUT TRANSPORTATION?

  • Early Out: Ride to school provided

  • Late Start: Ride home provided
     (Some transportation must be arranged by families)



CAN STUDENTS WORK OR DO CO-OP?

Students in work release programs are not eligible due to in-person requirements.




DOES VIRTUAL CLASSES AFFECT MY GPA?

If a student chooses to take virtual courses on a 4.0 scale, but has the opportunity to take an in-person honors course on a 5.0 scale and performs well, their rank GPA (rGPA) may be higher by taking the in-person honors course.





WHAT IF MY STUDENT DOESN’T LIKE ONLINE LEARNING?

This program is optional. Students may return to traditional in-person classes the following semester.



WHY NOT JUST HOMESCHOOL?

Hybrid allows students to:
✔ Graduate with their peers and stay connected to Hardin High
 ✔ Participate in athletics & activities
 ✔ Receive support and accountability
 ✔ Earn state-aligned credits



IS THIS PROGRAM RIGHT FOR MY STUDENT?

 ✔ Responsible
 ✔ Able to manage time
 ✔ Interested in a flexible schedule
