Cell Phone & Personal Electronic Device Policy **Effective: 2025–2026 School Year | In Compliance with HB 1481

Parents/Guardians,

At Hardin ISD, we are committed to keeping our parents and students informed about important changes that affect the school community. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to make you aware of new legislation passed during the most recent Texas legislative session.
Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, and in compliance with HB 1481, all Texas public schools must prohibit the use of personal electronic devices during the instructional day. This includes cell phones, smartwatches, personal laptops, wireless earbuds, and similar items. The policy applies from the first bell to the last bell each day and is intended to promote focused learning and limit distractions.
